While individuals within any breed may have different temperaments and personalities due to breeding or mis-handling, Standardbreds in general are incredibly willing to please, even tempered, quiet, loving, affectionate, sensible and intelligent.  Standies are frequently chosen as trail ride horses and for RDA mounts due to their temperament and personality.  Even those individuals that have developed problems due to mis-treatment can often be re-educated to overcome their issues.
